Krista Ranillo a no-show in ‘Wapakman’ premiere night

MANILA, Philippines – The cast of fantasy film “Wapakman” on Wednesday showed up at the movie’s premiere night, except for controversial actress Krista Ranillo who was conspicously absent during the event.

Lead stars Rufa Mae Quinto and Bianca King graced the event as well as Manny Pacquiao, who came with his wife, Jinkee.

This despite earlier reports that Jinkee might snub the event.

Jinkee said she accompanied Manny not only to show her support, but also watch her husband’s acting on the big screen.

“Nandito ako para maging masaya [at] manood kasi asawa ko ang bida… Gusto ko lang mapanood ‘yong the way he acts. Kung okay siya. Kasi first time ko manonood nang movie niya,” Jinkee told reporters.

Jinkee was discreet in answering questions regarding the rumored affair between the boxer and co-star Ranillo.

Jinkee also declined to discuss her YES! magazine interview, saying she would rather talk about the movie.

The boxer’s wife also reiterated that everything’s fine now between her and Manny. In fact, the Pacquiao family is taking a vacation in January 2010 in Canada where they will also celebrate Jinkee’s birthday, the couple said.

“Okay na ang lahat, ‘yon lang ang masasabi ko. Napatawad ko na ang lahat ng nakasakit sa akin,” said Jinkee.

Ranillo may be a no-show in the premiere night, but she is expected to participate in Metro Manila Film Festival’s “Parade of Stars,” which signals the start of the festival.

When sought for reaction, Jinkee said it is only expected that Ranillo would show up since she is also part of “Wapakman.”

“She’s part of the movie. Kailangan nandoon din siya,” Manny’s wife said.

When asked about her Christmas wish, Jinkee replied that she wants her family be spared from intrigues and to get their privacy back.
