AN ELABORATE welcome awaits boxing hero Manny Pacquaio when he arrives here Tuesday, said city hall sources.
Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr. had ordered a hero’s welcome for Pacquaio, in tribute to the latter’s knockout victory over highly-rated world featherweight king Marco Antonio Barrera last November 16.
Acharon earlier vowed to hold a fiesta-like celebration for Manny, who again put the City into the international map, following his 11th round technical knockout win.
Pacquiao is to be met by well-wishers at the airport, and will be driven around the City before proceeding to the City Hall where he is to meet Acharon.
