Sales, Orais and Rapada loses July 29 fights in Thailand

WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wanjongkam (57-2, 31 KOs) easily won a six round unanimous decision over WBF international 115lb title holder Mark Sales on Friday at Porkungpao Restaurant, Udomsuk Branch, in Bangkok, Thailand. The WBC king mostly controlled the show with his superior skills, attacking the Filipino with vicious combinations from the opening round. In round three, Pongsaklek cut Sales’ right eyeblow, forcing the ring physician to check the cut three times, in round three, round four and at the end of round five. In round six, he speeded his aggression that almost dropped his foe and finally scored a shutout 60-54 unanimous decision win.

In other action, WBC#2 superfly Medgoen Singsurat (42-3,29 KOs) excitingly retained his WBC Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) 115lb title by defeating WBF international 118lb champion Rodel (Kid) Orais (reportedly 13-16-1,5 KOs). The Filipino surprisingly attacked the Thai fighter as the bell rang, dropping former WBC fly king with tough right hooks and assaulting the champion most of round one. In round two, Medgoen recovered and angrily exchanged toe-to-toe with Orais, weakening his opponent with vicious bodyshots. In round three, the Thai fighter rapidly floored his foe with a right hook, then he wildly stalked the Filipino, successfully dropping Orais twice more that forced referee to stop the bout at 1:08. Medgoen retained his ABCO superlfy title for the twelfth time. Also, WBC#16 fly and WBC youth champion Fahpetchnoi Sor Chitpattana (9-0,6KOs) aggressively attacked Filipino Eric Rapada most of the bout before he scored all 59-55 unanimous decision win.
