Juan Diaz was on the losing side of a knock-out against Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in their 2009 Fight of the Year candidate and even though Diaz has a rematch with Paulie Malignaggi this Saturday night, the thorn of a loss to Marquez is still stuck in his side.

During a Sunday night visit to The Boxing Truth Radio, Diaz made it very clear that a rematch with Marquez is on his radar for 2010. Say what you want about Diaz, who has had a tough year – including the tough loss to Marquez, and a highly disputed victory over Malignaggi, he has a warrior’s heart and wants to avenge the only loss of his career.
Has anyone had a more difficult year than Diaz – Miguel Cotto comes to mind – having fallen from grace with boxing fans in a mere two fights? Remember when Diaz was the darling of the lightweight class and considered a solid challenger to Manny Pacquiao?
While Pacquiao is quickly becoming the face of boxing, Diaz will try to put his career back on track with a win clear victory over Malignaggi over night.

And for the record, when Pacquiao and Mayweather get in the ring, Diaz will be watching and will not bet against Pacquiao.
