I know that all the hoopla right now is in pairing up Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather Jr., but I myself would rather see a showdown between Mosley/Pacquiao. Not just because they are both exciting to watch but also because it would then put up the 2 best trainers in the world against one another, Freddie Roach and yourself. What are your thoughts on that showdown?
NR- Once again thanks for the kind words. I mean Floyd and Pacquiao would be great to see but you are right in saying that Mosley/Pacquiao would be better to see. We just have to wait and see what happens.
I have got to know, what was both yours and B-Hop’s initial reaction when you first heard that Roy Jones had just been stopped?
NR- To be totally honest with you my man, It didn’t mean shit to me because just the day before I did an interview saying that Green was going to knock Roy out.
With B-Hop already knowing the Jones/Green outcome prior to his fight against Ornelas, do you feel it took some motivation away from B-Hop thus explaining the slow start against Ornelas?
NR- Here is the thing with that. If you take a 2009 Honda and start it, that motor is going to kick right in and start for you. Now if you take a 1965 Caddy or something and start it, chances are that it’s going to take a while to heat up and start for you. So now that he’s started his engine, now he’s fresh and ready to roll. So fighting who ever next won’t take long to heat up because he’s already started.
That takes me to my next question, I mean now that Roy fumbled the ball, it now places B-Hop in a dilema. Does the fight with Roy still make sense? Does that fight still matter? Or does B-Hop sit back to see who comes through that gate? It could come in the form of bigger fish to fry, such as Haye, Adamek, Dawson, or even another scholar from his class in James Toney?
NR- Well it really does present itself with new options. We will just have to see what it do. My man, well hey I gotta let you go.
