When Mayweather returned against Marquez, many diminished the victory as he was fighting a smaller man and therefore should win. It is these same people that have previously said he wants no part of Pacquiao with the potential fight too dangerous, but should Mayweather overcome Pacman will revert back to ‘he is the bigger man and should have won.’ It appears that Floyd is in a no win situation with some fans.
Pacman has continued to prove people wrong by moving up the weight divisions and performing time and time again. He destroyed De La Hoya when few gave him a chance but after the fight the excuses came again, ‘De La Hoya was drained.’ So he goes on to destroy bigger men in Hatton and Cotto, proving his class.
If and when Mayweather and Pacquiao do meet, whoever wins, there should be no excuses regarding weight or anything else. It will be the two best fighters in the world getting it on to determine who is number 1. It will be an amazing spectacle between two modern greats and we should all applaud the victor, not try and make excuses that deter from the performance.
