MANNY PACQUIAO will do everything this year to get a green card in the United States, the document that would enable him to leave and enter the US without the attendant hassle.
Pacquiao said he decided to get the card, a coveted item for many Filipinos, because he’s tired of being subjected repeated interviews each time he entered the US.
Because of this, the Filipino boxing idol said he will stay in the US for as long as six months as part of the requirement for green card applicants.
“Darating ang time na titigil ako sa Amerika ng buong six months na walang uwian (sa Pilipinas) dahil sa green card application ko,” said Pacquiao.
The past few years, Pacquiao has been fighting mostly on US soil.
Pacquiao made his debut there in June 2001 and is expected to continue showcasing his wares in the next couple of years fighting against marquee names.
In fact, his calendar is already booked until March next year with fights lined up against American Kevin Kelley on Sept. 10 in Los Angeles, El Salvadoran Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez or Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas and a rematch against Mexican Erik Morales in March.
