As I sat in Section U221,Row H,Seat 15, I was in awe yet estatic that I was able to witness live the best fighter of his era Manny Pacquiao. Call em the Jordan of Boxing,Gretzky of Boxing, or the Woods of Boxing pick one but he has reached that level of greatness in his sport. By the end of the fight the Pac-man as he is called simply outclassed a world class fighter winning a record 7th title in 7 different weight classes. The first 4-5 rounds were fought at a rapid pace as both fighters tore into each other. But sometime after the 6th after being floored twice in the 3rd an 4th, Cotto realized he couldn’t handle Pacquiao’s speed an power an was in survival mode circling an moving away as Pacquaio stalked an begged Cotto to fight him. Mercifully in the 12th round ref Kenny Bayless called a halt to the bout as Pacquiao hammered Cotto on the ropes and the legend that is Manny Pacquiao continued to grow.
The only thing left now for Manny Pacquiao is THE FIGHT. An I’m sure you know which fight I’m refering to an thats Pacquiao vs Mayweather. It would be this generations Ali-Frazier. It will be an awesome contrast in styles with May’s Speed,Accuracy and Defensive Skills vs Pac’s Power,Speed an Movement it will be one to watch. Pac-May would be a true global event an a record setting extravaganza that would shatter all PPV an money making records. The negotiations will be long, tiresome an tedious but with the amount of money on the table rest assure it will get done.
If you haven’t seen Pacquaio fight what are you waiting for? This is a fighter that is so special that he only comes along once in a lifetime. If you believe in re-incarnation maybe just maybe Pacquaio is that of Bruce Lee. HBO will re-play the fight on Saturday Night so set your DVR an watch a truly great fighter ply his craft.
