Boxing returns to the desert in Southern California in a classic matchup between a young warrior and a strong veteran.
Super Flyweight Glenn Donaire will face Juan Alfonso Keb Baas in the 10 round main event at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, CA.
The bout will headline a six-bout “Battle of the Rising Stars” card, presented by All Star Boxing.
Donaire, (13-2, 8 KO’s) from San Leandro, CA by way of General Santos City, Philippines, is hoping to rebound from a first round knockout to undefeated Z Gorres in March.
Donaire has fought around the world. He has fought in California, Guam, and in his native Philippines.
He is a strong puncher who boxes well. Donaire began his first five professional bouts scoring knockouts before losing a controversial decision to Gabriel Elizondo in September of 2001.
Keb Bass, (30-13-2, 20 KO’s) from Hunucma, Yucatan, Mexico, has struggled in his last couple of fights. Keb Bass has lost seven out of his last eight fights, four of those in a row.
Keb Bass has challenged for a world title on two occasions. He lost by unanimous decision to Kermin Guardia in 2001 and lost by knockout to Jose Antonio Aguirre in 2003.
He has fought professionally since 1995 and brings a wealth of experience in his fight against Donaire. Keb Bass is a former WBC Fecarbox Light Flyweight champion.
Junior Middleweight Larry Mosley returns for the fight time in almost two years when he faces Allen Cespedes in a six round bout.
Mosley, (12-1, 3 KO’s) from Los Angeles, has not fought since an eighth round technical knockout victory over Adan Casillas in September of 2003.
A boxer with quick hands, Mosley won three out of his last four bouts by knockout. His only blemish was a six round unanimous decision loss to Dagoberto Najera in 2002.
Cespedes, (4-2, 3 KO’s) from Northern California, knocked out Jesus Hernandez in his last fight in December.
Cespedes has shown knockout power, but was knocked out himself against Juan Manuel Salazar in October.
Alex Viramontes will face Francisco Zepeda in a six round Junior Welterweight bout.
Viramontes, (6-3, 3 KO’s) from Riverside, CA, won his last fight by a four round unanimous decision over Jair Aguilar last month. The bout snapped a two bout losing streak.
Zepeda, (4-3-2, 2 KO’s) from Los Angeles by way of Michoacan, Mexico, has won four out of his last five fights. With deceptive power, Zepeda began his career winless in three fights.
In other fights: – Shadi Hamsho, (3-0) from Santa Monica, CA by way of Sweden, will take on Isidro Herrera in a four round Junior Lightweight bout. Herrera will make his professional debut.
– Jesse Rivas will face Joseph Egan in a four round bout. Both fighters will make their professional debut.
– Gustavo Torales will take on Ramon Torres in a four round Welterweight bout. Both fighters will make their professional debut.

This will be the first fight for All Star Boxing at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa and hopefully not the last.
