Who you got and why? This is the fun part, the most exciting time, because everybody’s got a strong opinion.
There are even some Pinoys who think Miguel I’m No Angel Cotto is going to conquer Pinoy Idol Manny Pacquiao.
They may be, for the most part, on the down low, all hush hush, quiet and Boxingconfidential about it, but they are a sizable minority who just don’t think their countryman is up to the job on Nov. 14.
On the other hand, there is a tiny mainly silent group of Filipinos—probably so small in number they could be stuffed into a phone booth in Cebu—who think Megamanny has bitten off more than he chew in the rugged Senor Cotto.
I don’t know for sure but I bet actress Krista Ranillo is not among those disloyal to the Philippines. I would think she is backing Manny all the way!

Correspondent Richard “Golden Southpaw” Salazar is a Mexican American ex-fighter living in Texas. He sent me an email blast saying I’m all wrong in favoring Da Pacman but then I counterpunched with his bum record of prognostications.
Let’s just say Salazar is no Madam Auring when it comes to predicting the future.
Folks, this is why they run the horse race, why the hold the elections, why they fight the fights.
Cotto-Pacquiao is turning into a promotion with hurricane force hot air as the two sides battle it out. Here’s my notes from and to Mr. Salazar and remember, he’s got a right to be so wrong:

“Don’t be shocked when Cotto steamrolls Pacman!
“Nothing in boxing surprises me, but I cant see Cotto losing to Pacman
“Cotto keeps a tight guard and counters with hard shots
“Plus, he has an under-rated left jab (remember he is left-handed) and punches to the body very well
“I’m sure pacmans speed will give problems, but in the end.. Cotto will be a little too much for the Pinoy fighter”
