I’m sure worldwide readers and media alike are just exhausted over all this nonsense about adviser Michael Koncz and trainer Freddie Roach battling behind the scenes. It’s time for Manny himself to step up to the plate; or belly up to the bar, or do whatever he does because he needs to end this. He needs to do this now and he needs to speak for himself.
I previously said this could all be a ruse to keep us all guessing and interested in the promotion. But the tickets are all sold.

Now it appears to me that Koncz is already the winner. I mean if this were a fight, they would have stopped it by now! We know Freddy Roach is a fighter.
Here’s why:
1. Koncz shaved about three weeks off of training time at Roach’s gym and comfort zone. 2. He has say as to sparring partners such as a shot Jose Luis Castillo. 3. He ran off Roach’s assistant just three weeks into this camp without a fight from Roach. 4. He ran off assistant trainer Michael Moorer after the last fight without a fight from Roach. 5. He let Manny break camp last weekend to travel to Manila without a fight from Roach.
What I’m saying is I have added up just these five conflicts (there are more) that have been reported by others here.
I conclude these and other indignities are just the salt in the wound that Koncz is rubbing into Roach to simply drain him and possibly force him to quit.
We know Koncz is a promoter Bob Arum guy. We know Arum and Roach don’t exchange Holiday Greeting cards. So you can draw your own conclusions here.
If I’m right, then Manny has already appointed Koncz as the boss over Roach for some other reason we don’t know yet unless Arum simply suggested it.
Does anyone really believe Michael Koncz has any real authority or brains? I don’t think he has the authority to make coffee.
This is a silent power struggle not seen in boxing since Don King brought in Rory Holloway and John Horne to babysit and “manage” Mike Tyson almost 15 years ago.
Case closed.
