IB: Hello Mr. Vasquez, how are you feeling abour your return to the ring?
IV: I’m feeling very good, thanks.
IB: What do you expect from your performance this Saturday against Angel Prioto?
IV: I’m not looking past him, I’m very focused on this fight, training hard and trying to make all the fans happier by giving them a good performance.
IB: Since this is a new Weight Division for you, has the weight become an issue are you having any troubles in making the weight?
IV: No, not at all, right now I’m two maybe three pounds over the weight, but I feel good and strong.
IB: You took some kind of break after those three hard fought battles with Rafael Marquez, do you feel those fights maybe took something away from you?
IV: No, actually if I hadn’t been injured I would have fought right away. Yeah, those were very difficult fights for both but the rest healed me somehow and I’m ready to fight.
IB: Have you changed anything on your training regime for this fight?
IV: We’ve been trying to workout better defense and more speed.
IB: Does that mean you’ll box from now on instead of brawling?
IV: I’ll be a bit more patient now, and see how this new plan works on me.
IB: What about your future on the Featherweight Division?
IV: I’m not looking past this fight, but as I’ve said, I want to prove myself against the best guys in the Division. Some of the names mentioned are Chris John, Juan Manuel Lopez, Rafael Marquez and even Rocky Juarez. I don’t want to get past this fight, so after it, we’ll see what happens.
IB: Would you like another fight against Rafael Marquez?
IV: Yes, I would. Actually the fans are demanding it, so yes, I very much like another fight with him. I’ll do it for the fans.
