Following three brutally classic battles with Rafael Marquez, a nineteen month lay-off, and a surgery to repair a problem with his retina, super bantamweight champion Israel Vazquez will return to the ring at the Nokia Live in Downtown Los Angeles this Saturdaynight against Angel Priolo.
While Priolo should offer little resistance to Vazquez, the boxing world will be watching closely to see if the Mexico City gladiator has anything left in his highly combustible boxing gas tank.
Though Vazquez is focused on the task at hand, during a recent visit to The Boxing Truth Radio, El Magnifico voiced his opinion on Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto’s November 14th rumble in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Pacquiao is a swollen up little guy and Cotto is a natural welterweight,” said Vazquez. “He is big, with a lot of power and Pacquiao will have some problems.”
