Floyd Joy Mayweather Junior’s ring defense is so phenomenal that it could be said he has a built in radar which allows him to elude nearly all punches coming his way.
But does Mayweather have another gift that keeps on giving? Does he also have gaydar, the innate ability to detect a homosexual person or a gay man innuendo from miles away?
I don’t know how this one slipped by me, folks, but in my daily quest for story ideas for Examiner.com and Boxingconfidential, I must admit exploring—so to speak—the homosexual sensitivity of a fighter who used to call himself “Pretty Boy” never crossed my deviant mind.
Until now.
I’m not a regular follow of Gayagenda.com but, while Googling, I came across a thought provoking article about Mayweather’s (lack of) gay sensitivity written by James Hipps. The article was accompanied by a TV interview with Mayweather.
Now, after reviewing this bubbly pre-Marquez fight interview with perky Chelsea Handler on “Chelsea Lately” on the E network, I am wondering if Mayweather, who is known far and wide as a raving HETEROSEXUAL, is blessed with something beyond his magnificent boxing skills.
I ask you to review this breezy Q and A and to note the limp wrist gesture made by Money May.
I ask you to note and underline his verbal slap at his own promoter and former foe Oscar de la Hoya for wearing fishnet stockings. (This I find very un-American as in our country adults may wear whatever they choose in privacy.)
Finally, I ask you to pay special attention to how Mayweather makes a painstaking effort to emphasize that while he and Eddie Murphy “speak” and are “friends,” they are definitely not sleeping together or anything of that nature.
Website Bestweekever.tv notes: “One may remember that the actor was detained in the wee hours of May 2, 1997, after police found a transvestite prostitute in his car. Murphy insisted that he was just giving a lift to Atisone Kenneth Seiuli (aka Shalomar). “It’s not the first hooker I’ve helped out,” Murphy said at the time.
Why the big deal, why the total denial of a bromance with the funny man? Is it because the actor/comedian likes to rescue men who dress like women?
NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
Singer and Murphy pal Johnny Gill has offered an amusing take on the Murphy/transvestite incident:
“Somebody walks up that you assume is a fine girl that spots you and approaches you, you’re thinkin’ ‘Hey shoot, it’s my lucky night.’ He had no other choice but to bite the bullet and say ‘Hey, I was just helping just her out and giving her a ride!”
I think we’ve all been there, right guys? No wonder the gossip sites ask if Murphy is “straight, gay or a bisexual circus clown.”
But let’s get back to Straight Arrow Floyd.
Does a man who is totally secure in his own masculinity need to be so defensive, so on guard? Come on, Brother Floyd if I may be so familiar, I think you went over your quota on gay references and gestures here.
Again, Mayweather is purportedly heterosexual, not that there is anything wrong with that.
Some of my best “friends” are heterosexual and I’m sure you have some also. Some of them are hair stylists and interior decorators and they are as macho as Manny Pacquiao and Vitali Klitschko combined, trust me.
What I’m wondering here if is this, does Mayweather have gaydar?
Inquiring minds want to know…
