IBF No. 4 jr flyweight contender Wyndel “Braveheart” Janiola of Stonewall Boxing Gym tries to shake off some rust coming from a nine-month hiatus when he takes on Zamboanga City’s Ricky Escaner in a non-title bout set for 10 rounds topbilling tonight’s “Showdown sa Liloan” at the Liloan Sports Complex. Janiola, who parades a 15-3 win-loss record packed with 7KOs, hasn’t fought since he lost via fifth round technical decision to Mexican Eric Ortiz in their IBF light flyweight elimination bout on September 4 last year in Tijuana, Mexico.
In the undercards of the exciting Independence Day extravaganza bankrolled by Josephine “Joy” Ouano of Stonewall Boxing Gym and Promotions, Cebu’s Ping-Ping Tempura, Greg Mangan and Mercito Gesta, together with Alvin Mondala and Rommel Ople of Bato, Leyte, will take on separate foes from Butuan City.
Tempura clashes with Allan Dugang, Mangan tangles with Jun Pader, and Gesta takes up Roldan Molina.
On the other hand, Mondala and Ople will go up against Dodong Salde and Roel Honor.
