Roy Jones Jr. vs. Bernard Hopkins- Outside of fighting Chad Dawson, this is the biggest fight that can be made for both of these fighters. My only question is, does the fight crowd even care at this point? Is the fight 5,6, or 7 years too late? The energy left in both of these legends will tell the tale of the tape. If Roy can fight, I mean box with as much energy as he did against Lacy, and if Hopkins can brawl with as much energy as he showed against Pavlik, then who really cares if the fight is a decade too late. I know, I know, you are all tired of all these ifs, frankly, so am I, but it is what it is.
Vitali murders Arreola with distance- No, really? You don’t say? I understand that Vitali has 2 losses on his record and Money May has 0 losses on his record, but I got to say that Floyd to me is more beatable than Vitali is. At welterweight or catchweight depending on where Floyd chooses to fight at, Floyd’s opponent will be around the same size, but an opponent against Vitali will be 3, 4, or more inches smaller than Vitali. I know size doesn’t win fights, but it sure does help. Most importantly, believe it or not, I feel that Floyd is willing to take more chances than Vitali is willing to take. I like the Klitschko Brothers, but as long as they hold the titles and continue to think safety first, the heavyweight scene will suffer. I like all kinds of styles, call me crazy or whatever you like but I always felt and feel that the heavyweights should look like killers and fight like murderers. If you are a heavyweight, and if you are going to box, at least add some finesse and make it look pretty like Eddie Chambers.
Next for Money May- We should all stop asking Floyd who he plans to face next. Floyds answer is always the same. “I just want to keep fighting. Leonard (Ellerbe) and Al (Heyman) handle my business outside the ring.” So from now on we should all stop wasting our time asking Floyd and start interviewing Leonard and Al. Another thing that ”Money” Mayweather says when Mosley or Pacquiao are brought up is: “They’re both good fighters but it’s not about the money, it’s for the love of the sport. I love the sport of boxing but of course it’s got to make business sense.” So let me get this right, first the man that calls himself ”Money” says it’s not about the ”Money”. Then he ends his statement by saying that ”of course it’s got to make business sense”., Um, I don’t know about you guys but, if one is going about his business as what makes ”Business Sense”, then isn’t that another way of saying that ”Money” May will go where the most ”Money” is? I mean that would make ”Business Sense” right? No doubt about it that Mosley is the only welterweight threat to beat Floyd, sorry Pacquiao fans but it’s very much true. Mosley will truly test Mayweather, where with Pacquiao, Pacquiao will only make it interesting, which is why interesting will build more interest, but the truth lies in the test. With that being said, I feel that Floyd, I mean Leonard and Al will choose Pacquiao over Mosley everyday of the week. Floyd will much rather have Mosley face a Berto and a Clottey first to add more wear and tear on Shane before Floyd ever even thinks of facing the ultimate lie detector test. One last thing to note, Floyd has said before in the past that he fought Hatton and Marquez simply because they called him out, well didn’t Mosley just call Floyd out face to face? So Floyd, please tell us what makes Mosley so different from Hatton and Marquez? Oh wait a minute, what am I doing asking you a man that says over and over that Floyd is his own boss, let me ask your bosses that very same question. Leonard and Al, what makes Mosley so different from Hatton and Marquez?
