Take Marquez! Take Marquez! Everybody single person I know believes Floyd Mayweather Jr. will easily beat Juan Manuel Marquez this Saturday night. But don’t count me in that crowd. There are 2 big reasons why Marquez has a chance. 1. He has been active, 3 fights since Mayweather has retired back 2007. 2. Distractions, Floyd has had to deal with numerous distractions leading up to this fight, thus could affect his focus. And don’t discount the pride of Marquez, a great champion who is a fantastic fighter. You don’t go life and death with Manny Pacquiao unless you are an excellent fighter.
Win Over Cassamoyer Says Marquez has a Chance
No I am not saying Joel Casamoyer is in the same league as Mayweather. But Joel Casamoyer is a border line hall of fame fighter. He withstood the thunder of both Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. Yet Joel wilted under Marquez’s precision. In my opinion this proves that Marquez can hurt Floyd. Casamoyer, while not the fighter Mayweather is, had a great chin, but he was kayoed by Marquez. That says a lot.
Size OVERRATED
Here are some facts people. Floyd Mayweather Jr is not a big welterweight. And he is not a physical welterweight. So why the hell do people think he is going over power Marquez. When the heck has Floyd ever over powered anybody? Floyd is great, but he is a boxer, not a puncher.
Also Mayweather spent the majority of his career at 130 and 135 pounds. While Marquez spent the majority of his at 126 and 130 pounds. Size will not be the difference in this fight, skill and power will. And while Floyd has a slight edge in skill, Marquez is the bigger puncher. And he doesn’t have the rust Floyd has.
Opportunity to Make Money
No not Floyd Money, Marquez Money. Ask yourself this. If have $100 and you want make a quick $300 in this tough economy. Where is my best bet? The craps table? Blackjack table? Or on the 2nd best fighter in the world who is fighting a guy who hasn’t fought in 2 years? I don’t know about you, but I am going with the 3 to 1 Underdog Marquez.
Prediction
Marquez by late stoppage. It will be an even fight until like round 9 or 10, but Marquez will break through. The Pacquiao-Mayweather dream dies, and we will end up getting the trilogy that stands to be a better match-up.
