Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to come home on Friday night to a hero?s welcome after clobbering Mexican champion Marco Antonio Barrera in their nontitle fight in San Antonio, Texas, but the big question for the International Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion is who will be the first to fete him.
Pacquiao is expected to arrive on board a Northwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles, but several news reports have it that a sponsor is asking the 26-year-old General Santos City native to leave the US later and arrive on Saturday or Sunday instead.
The sponsor is reportedly willing to give Pacquiao a business-class seat on a Philippine Airlines flight home instead of his economy booking on the Northwest plane so that the unnamed benefactor could gain publicity ahead of the IBF titleholder?s courtesy call to President Arroyo at Malacanang?s Ceremonial Hall on Monday at 2 p.m.
