If Lamont Peterson worked over Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in sparring, and Amir Kahn turned down this Pacquiao fight, why don’t they fight each other? Or was this just for some good old – fashioned publicity?
I believe Sept. 19 Mayweather – Marquez could be a great fight, but the public is thinking both of these guys are the “opponents” and not the actual headliner.
Old friend Lester Bedford has signed super bantam / junior feather contender Antonio Escalante to a management contract. Escalante is promoted by Golden Boy. Bedford has been in site-coordinating and marketing for many years, but did a pretty fair job managing a young “Jesse” James Leija of San Antonio, Texas.
