FILIPINOS & MANNY WANT ILL-ADVISED MORALES REMATCH!

FILIPINOS PUSH FOR ILL-ADVISED MORALES REMATCH

Most every Manny Pacquiao fan wants him to fight a rematch with Erik Morales in his next go. If I were running Pacquiao?s career, I wouldn?t even be entertaining the thought. Because what the ?Pac-Man? and his fanatics don?t realize is that Pacquiao was a flyweight (112 lbs) and is short in stature for 126 and 130 lbs. On the flipside, Morales is at his best weight ever. And when you match Pacquiao with the elongated Morales, the advantages for the Mexican can be insurmountable.

YOU PICKING PACQUIAO IN SECOND GO?

When you break the match of Manny and Erik down in hindsight, the reason why a lot of people thought Manny would win going in was that he had smoked Marco Antonio Barrera with relative ease. That and Barrera had twice in succession beaten Morales. But what these same people don?t realize is that Erik Morales is not the old, shot guy I thought he was. Against Pacquiao, Erik had things his way mainly because of his height and reach advantages.

?EL TERRIBLE? IS A MUCH BIGGER GUY PERIOD!

Anyway you look at it, Erik Morales is at least a natural ten lbs. heavier then Pacquiao. Erik started swinging leather for pay at 122 lbs. while Manny Pacquiao began as a flyweight (112 lbs). At this low a weight class, these are almost insurmountable odds to prevail against. The almost perfect Erik has lost but twice, both to Barrera in wars that I thought took years off of ?El Terrible.? Having miscalled that one, Morales looked good against Pacquiao, let there be no doubt that he beat the mighty Filipino.

REMATCH HAS ?REPEAT OR ROUT? WRITTEN ALL OVER IT

And in the rematch, even though the first was a 7-5 fight in rounds for Morales, it figures to be more one-sided this second time around. Look, unless Erik Morales gets real old, real fast, Manny Pacquiao will probably never be able to beat him. That?s why Pacquiao and his fanatical flock should get off the Morales rematch bandwagon, and instead get himself a couple of fights he can win and look darn good doing so.

WHEN WILL ?PAC-MAN? BE THE MAIN GUY?

For to fall into the rematch trap only means Pacquiao will again play second fiddle in the promotion. As he was against Lehlo Ledwaba, Barrera, Morales, and Juan Manuel Marquez, Pacquiao will be the opponent, which puts him at an even greater disadvantage of prevailing. Pacquiao wants the rematch, just like his followers. But I think if he fights Erik and loses again, Pacquiao is finished making the big purses.

PACQUIAO CUT HEALING FASTER THEN MOST THOUGHT!

In a brief conversation with a close confidant Wednesday, Pacquiao told him the cut was healing at an incredibly fast pace. And that he wanted, you guessed it, to fight Erik Morales in his next fight. Sometimes pride gets in the way of common sense and history. Is that the situation here with Pacquiao?
