I read it on here where you wrote that if Williams wants a foe he should have his people call Pavlik’s people. From what I have been reading on espn the fight is going to happen. Seriously, why are people even thinking to pick Cotto against the powerful Pacquiao? Even Miguel Diaz who used to be Cotto’s cutman has just recently said that Pacquiao will beat Cotto. Oh, that Diaz, ok well if it’s that Diaz then his word has got to be golden, right, right? As far as Cotto not wanting to put his ”147” pound title on the line, truth be told, I wouldn’t either. I know that it’s been done before at a catch weight like when Oscar fought Bernard, I didn’t agree with it then, and I sure don’t agree with it now, but then again that was Oscar. Pacquiao is already getting a welterweight Cotto at 145 so why give him a chance at the belt too? I feel that if you want the title then you should fight at the weight where the title is currently being held. If you want the 147 pound title then you should fight at 147!! Thing is that once a fighter beats Oscar, they then get dellusional and start making Oscar-like demands. If Pacquiao really wanted that title, then Pacquiao should have taken on Mosley the man that beat the man.

Dev, Thanks for writing in. I disagree 100% with your thoughts, in fact I feel just the opposite. The new Cintron, by new I mean the one that fought Angulo will give Shane much more trouble than Berto will. Styles make fights, The new Cintron is taller, uses the jab as a weapon and not a ruler, hits hard and will clutch on to you, and is trained by Ronnie Shields, sound familiar? Well it should because the late great Vernon Forrest used all that to defeat the Sugarman not once but twice. Berto was rattled by Rivera and Collazo, do you not think that Berto when hit by Mosley flush won’t get rattled? I say to Mosley to go after Berto and take him deep real deep. Berto is young, fresh, and holds a title, So once again why go after Cintron and Clottey?
Pacquiao is going to smash Cotto and he will do it early. Pacquiao killed Oscar and then destroyed Hatton. Cotto will face the same punishment, Cotto will be lucky to see the 8th round. I agree with your latest article where you say that Cotto is not damaged goods, but anyone that faces Pacquiao will for sure be damaged goods right after the fight. Steven, So Cotto will get flushed out by the eighth round, is that so? I can see it happening, but if it does, Pacquiao would have been in a all action war. Pacquiao’s best bet would be to come out on his toes and put the heat on Cotto with in and out fire, do not allow Cotto the time to counter. When Cotto does land which I know he will, Pacquiao will then find himself thinking a little differently about things. You are right about Pacquiao looking like a monster against Oscar and Hatton, thing is that Cotto stops the same Oscar that fought Pacquiao, only Cotto does it sooner. Cotto/Hatton would also be over inside 2-3 rounds. A painting can be as merciful as we paint it, some will see other things unseen by others, while to others a painting is just, well, a painting. Which one are you Steven? The Painter or the Viewer? It’s a fine thin line to walk on, We must all look at things in more ways than just one. Sure that after your back and forth thinking you may find yourself jaded over this mimicry, but you will come out with a much better understanding.
