JUDGES KICKS MURAD IN OPENING PHASE
Burlingame, CA-Late Wednesday April 27, 2005 the Superior Court of the State of California approved the motion by Attorney Sydney J. Hall that adds Martin Elorde and world featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao as co-plaintiffs into a suit already pending against Rod ?Boss? Nazario, his son Roberto ?Boying? Nazario, and everybody?s favorite promoter Murad Muhammad.
HOW ABOUT A LAW STUDENT NAMED LAMONT?
In a one page notice the court also slapped the epidermis off of Lamont Jones, Attorney for the Nazario clan and Muhammad. The Court issued a hefty fine of $6,800.00 (which Lamont has five days to pay) for ?bad faith delaying tactics.? Manny Pacquiao is also named as a nominal defendant (by name only) and Philippine Boxing, LCC, owned by Rod Nazario and ?Boying? Nazario, has also been brought to the line as a party defendant.
HALL FILED AGAINST MURAD YEARS AGO!
The original suit was initially filed by Hall against promoter Murad Muhammad, and then the Nazarios were added. Also today, Pacquiao himself has filed a separate suit against Mr. Muhammad in New York. Hall commented by saying, ?I?m not worried about that other suit. I expect to have the New York law suit brought back to Federal Court in California.? According to Hall New York has almost no ties to these cases and the courts will be inclined to transfer the forum to California where the evidence is and where Manny resides when he is training.

All Hall was waiting for was the motion to be approved, now that it has, the lawsuit is official and has been approved. The next step is for Murad Muhammad to reply to the suit. He has 30 says to either contest the case, or have it send to an immediate judgment. Unlike the suit that was filed in New York on Wednesday, the Nazarios and their company are defendants.
