FILIPINO pugilists Jason Egera and Rey Labao will be vying for a regional title today as they face foreign foes in SGG Promotions “Rematch” boxing showdown at the Naga Sports Gym.
Egera will face young Thai fighter Petch Kokietgym for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific super flyweight crown in a rematch.
The 25-year-old Egera already has a victory against Kokietgym.
He escaped with a split decision triumph over the former World Boxing Council Youth champion and is out to prove tonight that win wasn’t a fluke.
Egera has an 11-3 record with five knockouts, while Kokietgym is 7-1.
Meanwhile, Labao will face Thailand-based African Jesus Singwancha for the interim WBO junior lightweight title.
The 25-year-old Labao is 17-1 with 12 knockouts while Singwancha is 15-7 and has won his last 13 fights.
SGG Promotions big boss Sammy Gello-ani promised a fight in the US if Labao wins impressively against Singwancha.
Also tonight, Federico Catubay will face veteran world title contender Pramuansak Posuwan in another rematch.
