PACQUIAO CONTINUES TO MAKE BAD CHOICES
Having learned that Manny Pacquiao has had a number of meetings with Filipino advisor Rod Nazario, I find it hard to figure out. And at the same time this has to be disturbing for those close to the situation. I mean, I?m not involved and I find it disheartening, and of course I’ll tell you why. When the Pac-Man? fought in San Francisco against Agapito Sanchez a few years ago, Bob Arum promoted the show topped by Floyd Mayweather-Jesus Chavez.
FEELING LIKE A ?BROKEN RECORD? ON THIS
HBO gave Murad Muhammad a minimum of $250,000 for Pacquiao?s services. The hero of the 7,000 Philippine islands was paid $76,000. Everybody in the biz knew Murad had ripped Manny off. Trainer Freddie Roach, he was most vocal about it. Rod Nazario, he too was well aware of the figures I turned up in an exclusive www.RingTalk.com investigation. Since he knew Murad was getting much more then his client Manny Pacquiao, what does he do? Mr. Nazario refuses the offers of a number of promoters, including a reportedly signed pact with Lou Di Bella?s Di Bella Entertainment, and puts Manny back on Murad?s plate.
FORGET NOW, WHEN ROD NEEDED TO PERFORM, HE DIDN?T!
If ever Manny Pacquiao needed Rod Nazario for sound advice this was the time. Surely Manny would make big money by Filipino standards for his talents if he stayed with Murad. But would he maximize his earning potential in the short window of time that an upper echelon professional boxer has by staying with Muhammad? The track record said no! So what did Mr. Nazario do? Take the multi-million dollar fight deal with Di Bella or sign with a new promoter? No folks, he hand delivered Manny to Murad Muhammad.
EITHER ROD WAS INEPT, OR HE SOLD MANNY OUT?
Now, the entire homeland of Pacquiao is up in arms because Murad needed an SUV to haul away his take from the Pacquiao-Erik Morales fight. Their hero, Manny, he may have been able to hand carry away his end after it all is said and done! The Pay Per View ?Upside? clause not in the Pacquiao-Morales contract, the one that made Murad Muhammad millions of dollars, it was either Rod Nazario?s oversight or worse.
THE GLOVES, BEING THE OPPONENT, ALL ROD?S FAULT!
And about the boxing gloves, Manny?s fans are screaming about that too. Murad allowed that in the contract. And why is Murad Muhammad doing any business for Pacquiao at all? In every fight of major proportions, Pacquiao has been second fiddle, the opponent. Why has this occurred? Because of Rod Nazario! That?s why I say Pinoys that Rod?s got to go and now. In the most important times of Manny?s boxing life, Nazario has given him the wrong advice, and needs to be held accountable for he cannot transfer blame or spin this. The buck stops with Rod Nazario!
