YOUNG boxing phenom Jason Pagara isn’t taking his chances against the hard-hitting Simson Butar-Butar and he will use his defense as his main arsenal to defeat the Indonesian slugger in a fight that would dictate his future today in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
This is the second installment of the Summit Natural Drinking Water “Fight Night Boxing Tour.”
Butar-Butar had already claimed the scalp of Pagara’s fellow ALA boy, Czar Amonsot, twice—once in Indonesia and the other in Bohol—because Amonsot forgot his defense against the heavy-handed Indonesian.
However, Pagara won’t make the same mistake Amonsot made because he will stalk Butar-Butar patiently and wait for the right moment to dispose of him.
“Jason will be on defensive mode. Czar traded punches with Butar-Butar and that was his mistake because Butar-Butar throws punches all around,” ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu.
“He knows this is his chance. Butar-Butar is a threat because he did well against Amonsot. He knows he has to do well today,” he said.
If Pagara wins impressively, he will be sent to the US to campaign there after he turns 18 years old in February next year.
ALA Promotions is planning on sending him to Las Vegas where he will train along with US-based ALA boy Mark Jason Melligen at the Roger Mayweather Gym.
Pagara is 18 -1 with 10 knockouts, while Butar-Butar has a 19-9-2 card with 14 knockouts.
In the undercard, up-and-coming prospect Larry “Bon Jovi” Canillas (5-1, 4 KOs) is up against veteran journeyman Roger Galicia (23-10-4, 7 KOs).
