Grow up Floyd!
I wanted to publish a story today going after Floyd Mayweather, Jr. I held back because, other than just getting my feelings off my chest, I realize everyone else is doing the same thing and it has no redeeming social value.
I was going to mention that there are elementary school teachers in Grand Rapids, Michigan (certainly tenured because of a union) that should be ashamed of themselves.
One of their prize pupils, ‘Floyd Mayweather, Jr, had hit the big time. He’s been one of the best boxer’s in the world for a decade now.
He’s made millions and has a big house, dresses well, throws wads of money up in the air at night clubs in Las Vegas. Oh, he’s a real gas, man.
So what’s the problem?
On the down side, he just won’t conjugate verbs when he speaks. Any verbs, All verbs. He doesn’t pay his taxes. He’s not a role model for children. He should slide into middle age and retirement as smoothly as Mike Tyson, maybe even Leon Spinks.
Those teachers never taught him anything.
I don’t know if he acts tough and confident to hide his low self – esteem or visa -verse, but he gets so jacked up at press conferences and especially Tuesday’s teleconference that he comes off as a blithering idiot.
Doesn’t Floyd get it? His act is old and tiresome. And he hasn’t fought in 21 months so he’s almost irrelevant.
Floyd is an awesome 39-0 with 25 knockouts. Undisputed everything. But now, he has to win this upcoming fight with Marquez or he’s toast professionally and personally.
Manny Pacquiao is 49-3-2 with 37 knockouts. Meaning he’s walked out of the ring without a win five times! But the entire boxing world and casual fans worldwide can’t get enough of this guy. They don’t care if his English is broken. Obviously he’s tried to improve as you can tell by interviews.
Floyd spent his time during the teleconference criticizing his former promoter Bob Arum. He didn’t criticize Pacquiao, but said Arum is sticking it to Pacquiao. Floyd said he won’t criticize Pacquiao because Pacquiao hasn’t called him out for a fight.
Oh, that’s the proper street etiquette? Thank’s Floyd. I needed that.
Floyd wants to fight Pacquiao in the worst way.
Let me let Floyd say it his way.
“He (Pacquiao) hadn’t done nothing I hadn’t done.”
He’s rumored to be almost bankrupt, but he publicly gives unsolicited financial advice to Pacquiao! He needs to realize the way he spends money, even a couple of mega paydays will be gone in a few years and than he won’t be able to afford his bully pulpit.
I had a college professor, the great David McHam, who told me that there were some things you can learn, but there are just as many things you have to be taught.
Floyd’s arrogant, bullying ways explain his poor social skills, horrible diction and enunciation.
He can fight though.
