He?s climbed nearly every mountain they have in the limited world of boxing.
I know, I know there?s Mount Mayweather but will it turn out to be a real mountain over an over hyped molehill?
Pacquiao has also won every imaginable fighter award. The Boxing Writers Association may have to permanently engrave his name on the Fighter of the Year Award.
But other boxers, past, present and future can sweep boxing awards.
Based on his latest action in Saragani Province (as reported by ABS-CBN) in the country where he is the Pambasang Kamao, I am beginning to think the time could possibly come when Pacquiao is up for a more noble prize.
I am talking about the most noble prize, the Nobel Prize which is given to remarkably accomplished persons who do great things such as increase the peace.
It is the Nobel Peace Prize.
Now making one visit to a hospital where terrorist victims are begin treated and digging into his stuffed pockets to aid the same victims does not a Nobel Peace Prize make.
But what if, after he wins a Congressional seat in the Philippines and then goes on to become his country?s president, Pacquiao is able to score his biggest knockout.
What if the Pinoy Idol can knock out the endless war involving Muslim dissidents in the southern Philippines and end the religious strife there?
That would be most noble and most Nobel as well.
I know I am reaching for the moon and stars here but, if this ever happened, you know who would be the perfect person to present the Nobel Prize to Manny?
A former South African fighter who was imprisoned for so long but finally won his and his people?s fight for freedom, justice and equality, that?s who.
Presenting the Nobel Prize to Mr. Pacquiao is…
Nelson Mandela.
Maybe standing next to him is Muhammad Ali, another boxer who achieved so much outside the ring in his stand against the Vietnam War.
You?ve got to admit such lofty topics and goals makes all this who is the next ring opponent for Manny drama seem totally absurd.
Maybe this is what fate has in store for Pacman when he begins representing his people outside of the boxing ring.
Sure he has represented his people superbly as a fighter.
But maybe it?s in the cards for Pacman to play even larger role in history, a history that goes way beyond the pages of The Ring magazine.
Being the King of the Ring, the acknowledged best pound for pound fighter, is certainly an honor.
But perhaps, given time and opportunity, Manny can be so much more than a ring king.
Maybe, in his own way in his own nation, Pacquiao can evoke the memory of a Nobel Peace Prize winner named Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., pictured here with wife Coretta when he accepted the treasured award in Stockholm.
If Pacquiao can knock out peace and stop people from hurling hand grenades, then who is to say he can?t get there?
Maybe all his fistic fame and glory will turn out to be just a preliminary bout for Pacquiao.
It could happen.
Manny Pacquiao has already proven in his current arena that he reaches for the sun, the moon and the stars.
Ambassador of Peace and Goodwill? He sure is.
Maybe he will dare to be great in politics as well.
