Cotto vs. Pacquiao- So I am hearing that Cotto is really thinking about getting down to as low as 144 to tangle with the badest man on the planet. I could be wrong but, if memory serves me right, I think the last time Cotto fought below 144 was like 3 years ago. Desert Storm vs. Galaxxy Warrior- So allow me to begin with the proposed fight between Timothy Bradley and Nate Campbell, That fight right there is one that I am very excited about. If Bradley can get past the tough banging vet in Campbell, then everyone at 140 must then stay far away from the storm swarm that is Bradley, if Campbell wins however, what a way to enter, by taking out the man in the center of it all. Victor Ortiz vs. Marcos Maidana- A little over a week from now, we will get to see Vicious Vics limitations. Is Vic simply just a one dimensional come forward slugger? Does Vic have it in him to adjust when the heat is on him? These questions will surely be answered come fight night, then again maybe not, maybe Vic will land a vicious left hook on Maidana early to end the show early. Paulie Malignaggi vs. Juan Diaz- August can not get here fast enough. In this clash we will have two fighters with their backs against the wall looking for breathing room. Both men desperatly want to get back to the top, and they both seem to be each others obstacle. Paulie tells me that training is going great and if Diaz is expecting to see the same Paulie that fought Hatton, well then Diaz is in for a rude awakening. Diaz tells me that his camp is going real good and that we can expect to see a more versatile fighter come fight night. Somethings gotta give. Shane Mosley- Nobody deserves a shot at Pacquiao more than Mosley. So far it looks like Cotto may get the first crack at Pacquiao, so what then becomes of Mosley if Cotto does get the date with Pacquiao? If I’m Shane I then force them to fight me. How, you ask? I would go after the straps at welterweight, and Berto holds that fine looking green belt. Yeah I know that financially right now Berto does very little for Shanes pockets, but it could be a move to pay him handsomely in the future. By beating Berto and taking his strap from the young lion, Mosley would then really make himself the only man to see for the throne at 147. The winner between Cotto/Pacquiao and the winner between Mayweather/Marquez must then look up and see one man, and one man only. Paul Williams vs. Allan Green- The last time I spoke to Allan, he made it pretty clear to me that if the Punisher is looking for a real test, well then to look no further. The search is over. No one is in any kind of hurry to face these two fighters so let’s get this fight done already.
Fraud Mayweather?- I have recently been asked alot if I think Floyd is faking an injury. I for one would hope that he is not faking it, but then again maybe he is faking it. After all it’s no secret that the ticket sales were not doing good numbers for the July 18th date, So now they are looking to move the fight to September 19th the weekend for the Mexican Independence. If July 18th wasn’t doing it for the Mexican fans, well for sure September 19th’s date will, right? Right? Or maybe just maybe, Floyd nurses the injury a bit longer and finally gets clearance from his doctor to begin training once again sometime in September, thus hurdling over Marquez and fighting Pacquiao instead on November 14th. Ricky Hatton- Oh dear Ricky Hatton where could you be? If I don’t hear anything about Ricky Hatton’s where abouts by this coming Sunday, I will personally start taping Hatton’s mug to the back of every milk carton I see. Then I will hire Edwin Valero to hunt you down. After all if Edwin had no problem locating Alcazar after being M.I.A for nearly a decade, then finding Hatton should be no problemo at all.
