Bob Arum says Floyd Mayweather Jr is pricing himself out of a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
A clash between reigning P4P king Pacquiao and his predecessor is the most tantalising prospect in the sport at present.
But Arum – whose Top Rank promote Pacquiao – says Mayweather’s “absurd” demands are preventing the showdown from taking place.
He told Setanta Sports News: “Mayweather is taking the position that unless he gets more money, there will never be a fight – that’s absurd. Manny is the most sought-after boxer on the planet. If Mayweather persists with this position, a fight will never happen.”
Mayweather Jr makes his return to the ring from retirement on July 18 when he meets Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile next up for Pacquiao could be Miguel Cotto, who defends his WBO welterweight title against Joshua Clottey on a huge Madison Square Garden card on Saturday night.
