It?s unusual to get four graduates of the Barnum & Bailey Clown College together in one photograph but here you go.
A group of geese is called a gaggle, I think. What do you call a gathering of clowns?
I will, not for the first time, make something up.
OK, let’s call this a clutch of clowns.
The exciting thing about these clowns is that all have slightly different acts. This makes for wonderful circus going for boys and girls and men and women of all ages and levels of intelligence.
All four are currently getting huge laughs all throughout Pacworld and wherever intelligent boxing fans are located.
Let?s analyze these four Boxing Bozos and what potential amusement they bring to the boxing table:
1. FLOYD JOY MAYWEATHER JR.: Edwin Valero fought trike drivers to run up his undefeated pro record but this guy rides one all over the ring with his run and hide style. Posing as ?Money May,? this performer insists that he fights no man unless he gets ?called out,? preferably on his top secret mobile number. Evidently he got such a collect call from Marquez who imitates great Mexican clown Cantinflas. Appearing in center ring with ?Money May? will be his father and uncle, veteran clowns who pretend to be esteemed trainers.
2. LAUGHING LENNY ELLERBE: He has encyclopedic knowledge of boxing and high level negotiations which runs from A all the way to B. Faced baseball bat diplomacy of angry agents of former Mayweather handler James Prince and went down without swinging. Those guys drove LL batty you might say. Ellerbe?s credentials are written in invisible ink as he has represented no other boxer. He did watch boxing on TV as a child in the Washington, DC, area, however.
3. OSCAR DE LA HOYA: Goes by clown handle of ?Crusher? and purports to be an expert on who will ?crush? Manny Pacquiao in the ring. So far, he is about 0-7 in such predictions including his own beating by Pinoy Idol. If ?Crusher? really wants to see a true crushing, he can replay his quit job on one body shot against Bernie Hopkins. That ?crushing? so impressed Oskie he made BHop one of 444 vice presidents of Golden Boy. GBP has more vice presidents than Citibank. As far as expertise, Oscar now refers to himself as ?The World?s Greatest Authority??on any subject.
4. JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ: Like Mayweather, real fighter, big talent, when he puts gloves on. But away from the ring, he plays the sad clown role complete with real tears and violin accompanying his sad tale. Likes to point out that Ricky Hatton, British carnival act, could not match his feat of going off his feet THREE TIMES in one round against Pacquiao.
Yes, circus fans, there will be chuckles, guffaws and even a few kneeslappers in store for you whenever you happen to catch the solo or group acts of this funny foursome.
