So Shane I am hearing that Pacquiao has agreed to get it on with the Sugarman, What’s the word on this?
Yes Albert, Pacquiao has said that he would like to fight and that he accepts my challenge. Pacquiao said that we can do this at a catchweight. It seems to now be up to Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum getting together and coming up with something then contacting Richard and I so that we can get this fight done.
Obviously, knowing Arum I am willing to bet that he would rather have Pacquiao wait until after the Cotto/Clottey clash before moving forward on this subject, is that your take as well?
Your right, Arum may be looking to get an all out Top Rank fight going to keep it all under Top Rank Promotions. Arum is hoping that Cotto takes care of Clottey to try to pin both his fighters against each other, but why would you want to have the second best when you have the best welterweight right here? I’m the welterweight champ so i’m here waiting to get this fight done!!
Mosley vs. Pacquiao has highlight reel type of fight written all over it, I hope it happens, I would love to see that fight go down.
Albert, I hope it goes down as well. It’s a fight that the public wants to see. Pacquiao comes to fight and you already know that I come to fight so it’s only natural that when you have 2 action first fighters like Pacquiao and myself that they must come together and test each others wills.
I’ve been hearing that if the fight is to take place that it would be around the 143-144 pound limit, is that what your thinking as well? I got to tell you that it feels like Freddie Roach and Pacquiao are trying to drain you out like they did Oscar.
I am looking to make it at 144 pounds, let’s do this halfway. As far as the weight goes, Pacquiao was able to do what he did to Oscar because Oscar lost the weight the wrong way. You know that there is a problem when you are supposed to be the bigger fighter and if Pacquiao is heavier than you come fight night.
A friend of mine just text me saying Mosley vs. the Mexicutioner!! After watching the Pacquiao Storm destroy Hatton the way in which he did, does it strike any fear in you at all?
[Laughing] None at all, I mean Pacquiao is a great warrior I think that everyone already knows that, he does what he does and I do what I do, we both look to destroy. It’s funny that you said Mexicutioner because you know Albert I am practically half Mexican, so if Pacquiao wants we can even fight in September on Mexican Independence Day so that I could come out in a sombrero with Mariachi music blasting to avenge Oscar and all the great Mexican fighters that he has beaten.
Mosley in a sombrero in September sounds nice, that’s what’s up, so the last time we spoke you mentioned to me that you had played against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his team in a game of pickup basketball, were you guys guarding each other? If so, were you guys talking trash?
We had ourselves a nice game that day Albert, we were not talking trash, we were just both playing hard going at it, we were guarding each other as a matter of fact. It was a good game, my team won by the way. [laughing]
I got to say that the recent appearance on Friday Night Fights when you called out Floyd was sweet music to the ears of many. Believe it or not, there are people out there including Floyd that said it’s you that was ducking him, what’s your take on that?
At the end of the day, Floyd can not escape me!! Floyd will see me.. I have never ducked Floyd or any fighter for that matter. The thing you got to ask yourself is, who has the history of ducking here? Floyd? or me? The proof is all there clear to the eye, if I wasn’t afraid to risk it all against fighters like Oscar, Winky, Forrest, Cotto, and Margarito then why would I duck Floyd of all fighters? As you and I have talked about this before Albert, if he ever does decide to stop running and face me, if he thinks that he will just out box me, well guess what? I may just mix it up with him and box him as well and beat him at his own game. I am a boxer myself, when I first started boxing I was a boxer but it was boring to me so I then decided to bang so I can do that too. If it’s a go between Pacquiao and myself, Mayweather can get it next.
