Two-time world champion Erik “El Terrible” Morales has weighed in on the loss of his biggest rival to date, Marco Antonio Barrera. “I think his inconsistency finally caught up with him. There is not much that you can really say, the other guy was much better then he was Saturday night.” stated Morales. “[Pacquiao has] a lot of heart and is very aggressive and the fact that they are about the same size helped him. He looked very fast and was throwing a lot of punches. He just had a great night.” About a possible fight with Pacquiao, Morales said, “Right now all I’m thinking about is winning the 130lb championship and going back to 126 is not an option, but if they were to talk about something in between I would listen and then make a decision, because I think a fight with him would be good and of interest to the public.” About a rubber match with Barrera, Morales said, “I think we are going to have to wait to see what Barrera decides to do first with his boxing career. I don’t know if the public is still interested in a third fight between us after what happened this weekend. I know that there was some thinking about the third fight for next year if we both kept winning, but now I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait to see how his loss changes things. For now all I’m thinking about is winning a title at super featherweight and then see what happens after I do that.”
