Marquez seeks third fight with Pacquiao

World lightweight champion Juan Manuel ?Dinamita? Marquez is hoping for a third fight with reigning world pound-for-pound king Manny ?PacMan? Pacquiao in November.

Marquez, holder of the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization lightweight titles, needs to defeat the unretired Floyd Mayweather Jr., to get to PacMan, who expressed his readiness to fight Dinamita ?anytime, anywhere.?

?If I defeat Mayweather, I would be ready to move forward with a Manny Pacquiao fight in November,? Marquez told Esto, a Mexican sports newspaper.

Marquez, 35, said he would bulk up eight pounds to 143 to fight the unbeaten Mayweather on July 18 at the MGM Grand Arena.

His training team headed by Nacho Beristain said they are taking every precaution for his match-up with Mayweather, the former pound-for-pound champion, in view of the swine flu epidemic in Mexico.

Among the safeguards are plans to hold Marquez? training camp outside Mexico, should the flu virus continue to spread.

Reports said at least 860 have been sickened by the swine flu, with 140 deaths believed linked to the H1N1 virus as of Wednesday. Mexican health authorities said the number of flu cases is ebbing.

Marquez (50-4-1, 37 by knockouts) said his training camp would include his taking special foods, exercises and different weight session to put on the added pounds without sacrificing speed and power.

?We will work with a team that includes nutritionists and a weight trainer to keep myself strong and fast,? said Marquez, who moved up to lightweight after being dethroned as junior lightweight champion by Pacquiao in March 2008.

Marquez has since scored two knockout victories to win the lightweight belts, first against Joel Casamayor on September 18, 2008; and against Juan Diaz last February 28.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, has gone on to win his fourth world title against David Diaz in June last year, followed by an eighth round technical knockout over top boxing draw Oscar De la Hoya on December 6.

PacMan (49-3-3, 37 by KOs) on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) scored a devastating second round knockout over world junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton of Britain to collect his fifth world title in as many weight divisions.

Pacquiao said he welcomes a November or December fight against the winner of Mayweather-Marquez.

The Filipino icon also said he is open to fighting the ?bigger guys??welterweight titleholders Miguel Cotto and Sugar Shane Mosley.
