These three lethal combinations of Manny Pacquiao – speed, power, and strategy sent Hatton down three times to the canvas, ending the bout in the 2nd round when referee Bayless counted the Hitman out even without counting as the hapless Briton lied motionless from a crunching left to the chin.
At ringside all the famous celebrities from Jack Nicholson, JayZ and even Diddy sat in disbelieve as Hatton hit the canvas for the third time within two rounds. Boxing legends Mosley, Hopkins and De La Hoya also were speechless.
Much has been said about the Pacman’s speed and power before. We can throw in all the superlatives there is to describe them. There’s no doubt they are in the upper stratum.
There’s one more thing that won the fight – a good strategy. They studied Hatton’s moves from his previous fights, and from there, planned when and what punch to land and Pacquiao managed to execute it extremely well.
Pacquiao cemented his place as the P4P king with the sensational win. Nobody will contest that, except, perhaps Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Will step aside money be offered to Marquez to give way to Packman/Money bout?
It is not farfetched unless Floyd, after seeing how Hatton was demolished in two, would find it prudent to go ahead first with the tune-up fight with Marquez.
