Donaire, Viloria set to conquer scale

Flyweight king Nonito Donaire and light-fly title aspirant Brian Viloria are expected to conquer the scales Saturday for their respective world title fights Sunday morning at the Araneta Coliseum.

Donaire defends the IBF 112-lb crown against Raul Martinez of the US, while Viloria attempts to dethrone Ulises of Mexico as IBF 108-lb ruler in the event being put up by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. and Solar Sports.

After working out for the last time at the Elorde Sports Center in Para?aque, Donaire said he is just a pound over the limit, while Martinez also expressed the belief that the Texas-bred puncher will have no problem dealing with the scales at 10 a.m. at the Manila Hotel.

Viloria, born in Hawaii to Ilocano parents, was also brimming with confidence as he was spotted at the coffee shop, looking happy with his trainer, ex-world champion Robert Garcia of Oxnard, California.

Meanwhile, arriving with Arum Friday from the US include ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. and TV analyst Al Bernstein, who will do the commentary job for Showtime in the US.
