The upcoming Pacquiao’s fight at the MGM Grand Las Vegas on May 2 is like Superbowl for many Filipinos. This is the time we get together with our family and friends to watch the pound-for-pound king. We hold an all-day “Pacman” party, we take a day off from work (for those who work on fight day) or simply make time to watch our very own Manny Pacquiao.
As ?The Battle of East and West” comes close, Pacquiao has been training longer and harder. The Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood where he trains is said to be strictly accessible to Pacquiao team members only.
It was also recently announced that Martin Nievera, the Philippine’s concert king will be singing the national anthem. He’s been picked by Pacquiao to sing the Philippine national anthem on the event.
Another news that we heard is that Manny Pacquiao’s mother will be in Las Vegas during her son’s fight but will be watching on TV inside MGM Grand hotel. In Pacquiao’s previous fights, she’s been watching the fight on TV in their hometown (General Santos City) in the Philippines.
