DESPITE a cut on the right eyebrow caused by an accidental headbutt, we take our hats off to Filipino world boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao for putting up a good fight.
Sa kahit anong laban, may nananalo, may natatalo (In any contest, someone wins, someone loses), so goes a Tagalog saying, which is oft-repeated in many contests in the country.
Manny did the country proud by showing to the whole world that despite that a face bloodied by a deep cut on the right brow and a puffy lower right eye, he still fought fiercely. He did his best to bring honor for the country.
For that, we Filipinos should still be proud of Manny. It was such a tough battle but he held on.
A comment by sports analyst Quinito Henson is worth looking into. Henson said Manny was fighting way out of his weight class and it was evident in Manny’s fight against Morales.
We look forward to a rematch between the two fighters and this time we hope Manny brings home the bacon, so to speak.
