They strolled the celebrity red carpet in Hollywood Monday night. Come May 2, Manny Pacquiao figures to beat Ricky Hatton like a rug in Las Vegas.
That’s “The Wrestler,” Mickey Rourke holding up thge hands of Manny and Ricky during the foofy festivities. Oh, yeah, the Boston Connection was in full effect as Marky Mark Wahlberg was on hand. He’s pals with Pacman trainer Coach Freddie Roach.
Hatton trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. was suitably impressed by the red carpet, saying, “I didn’t walk in on one of those when I was an involuntary guest of the State of Michigan, I can tell you that.”
Mayweather also revealed his latest fistic poem exclusively to www.examiner.com and to his fave rave boxing site, www.boxingconfidential.com. It kind of goes like this:
They made Manny and Ricky walk on a rug
But, come May 2, Hatton will squash Pacman like a tiny bug
My British boxer, he don’t claim to be no thug
But you can bet your ass he’s gonna beat this Filipino lug
I’m not bragging or being simply smug
But with my training and Ricky’s skills it’s curtains for this Pinoy mug
When the fight is done and over, I’ll even give Joke Coach Roach a manly hug!
