Here?s one for the record books or the Hall of Shame, to be precise.
Veteran Filipino boxer Rexon Flores was knocked out in just 28 seconds on Sunday by knockout prospect Zolani Tete at the Orient Theatre in East London, South Africa, according to fightnews.com.
Just as spectators were getting into their seats, Tete connected with a right-left combination to Flores? temple, sending Flores to the floor flat on his back.
The flyweight bout was set for 10 rounds and ringsiders never thought that a wily campaigner like Flores, who has fought in Japan and in faraway Argentina, would lose in such stunning fashion.
Tete, a lefty, boosted his unbeaten win-loss-draw record to 11-0-0 with 10 knockouts, including eight in the first round.
The defeat dropped Flores? ledger to 19-6-4 with nine stoppages.
