GENERAL Santos Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr. vowed to welcome Manny Pacquiao with a ticker tape parade when the latter returns home after registering a stunning upset victory over highly-touted Mexican featherweight king Marco Antonio Barrera, Sunday.
“Mag-piyesta ‘ta (Let’s hold a fiesta celebration),” said Acharon, a close friend of Manny. He added he was impressed with the performance put up by Pacquiao against the Mexican champion, and said a hero’s welcome awaits the General Santos world class pugilist when the latter arrives here in two weeks time.
The city mayor said he watched the exciting match on cable television with his family at their residence.
