BC comment contributor Epark is concerned that if Juan Manuel Marquez gets beat Saturday night in Houston by 10 years younger Juan Diaz, that result will muck up the potential third match in the Juan Ma-Manny Pacquiao rivalry.
Whilst I can appreciate Epark?s concern and, probably like so many of you, I am looking foreward to the inevitable ?Threematch? between the Mexican ringmaster and the Pinoy idol, I think it?s misplaced.
Look, the safest bet around lately is that Juan Ma and Juan Di will go the 12-round limit. I don?t think either man will get floored let alone KTFO?d in Texas.
A close decision, over way or another, is likely. Naturally, any close call will be disputed especially if Sir Whinealot, meaning Juan Ma, loses. Juan Ma and team may have their well-worn crying towels in the locker room already.
But losing to Juan Di won?t scratch off Pacman-Marquez III.
If anything, it will facilitate making the third fight because Marquez will be slightly humbled and his asking price will be lowered. Uncle Bob Arum loves it when the other side comes in with a lower purse demand.
If anything, a Juan Ma victory in the bout billed as “Supremacy” will complicate the finances for any unfinished business against Megamanny.
(I?m sticking with my Diaz on points prediction so keep your waffles to yourself.)
Manny-Juan Ma Chapter Tres is predicated on their previous 24 rounds of enthralling combat and even a loss to the Mexican-American can?t diminish the storied history between JMM and MP.
I hope this puts your mind at ease, Brother Epark.
