Unless he changes his name to Sellout Coach Freddie Roach, I don?t think we will see Manny Pacquiao fighting Miguel Cotto this year or next.
Or ever unless Pacman?s tutor radically changes his old tune about going up to welterweight being a for Oscar De La Hoya only special excursion.
So I agree with BC comment poster ?Pepper? and I know, I know that is probably a Pinoy ?Pepper? and not Coach Roach?s brother of the same name.
Let?s got not completely lost in the he beats De La Hoya down euphoria.
Pacman started as a flyweight. Some of his greatest victories?Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez?have been over guys who started out as 122-pounders.
Manny?s ascension to the lightweight throne was a natural progression. Last time I checked though, there are still 12 pounds between 135 and 147 pounds.
When he fights Ricky Hatton on May 2, it will be on the middle island, junior welterweight.
I can?t even imagine how much physically stronger Cotto is compared to Hatton. Or to Pacman.
You want to push the Pacman envelope until it bursts? Then keep recommending that he climb back to welterweight for a Cotto fight.
Besides, how much money is there in Pacman-Cotto? Of course it?s big but it?s not the kind of jumbo jackpot that the De La Hoya fight was.
I say Manny must be a man who knows his limits.
I say no more welter-skelter bouts with one notable exception.
If Floyd Mayweather returns to fight Megamanny, then you?ve got a megafight.
Pacman will have no choice but to go back to 147 pounds.
Otherwise, he needs to leave that division alone because disaster awaits.
BC comment poster ?Pepper? is right and I?m right. If you disagree with us, then get a grip because then you are not a keen fight fan.
If you disagree, you?re just a Pacnuthugger.
Not that there?s anything wrong with that. Everyone likes cheerleaders.
But, obviously such a stance makes it clear, that the only thing that kept you out of college was high school.
As Dr. Pacquiao, who is nobody’s clown in his mortarboard and gown, would say, “Smarten up!”
