Victor Ortiz & Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero speak on Pacquiao and their upcoming fights!

Hot boxing prospect Victor Ortiz and World Champion Robert ?the Ghost? Guerrero paid a visit to San Jose Bay Area, CA to promote their upcoming HBO Boxing After Dark triple header vs. boxers ?Mighty? Mike Arnaoutis and Daud Yordan respectively. Golden Boy will be promoting the event which will take place at HP?s ?The Tank? arena on March 7th. Read on for more on their thoughts on fighting in the bay area, Manny Pacquiao and their boxing futures!

This will be HBO?s first ever televised fight card to be held in San Jose, CA the heart of silicon valley. HBO has televised cards in San Francisco, just north of the valley but never in the south bay area.

Guerrero who grew up in Gilroy 30 minutes from San Jose, CA is excited to be fighting in his adopted hometown. ?I?ve been talking about fighting out here for a long time and I want there to be big fights out here,? he said, ?I?ve worked very hard to get where I?m at and now I?m coming home.?

Guerrero has had a long layoff due to promotional changes in his camp. He just recently signed on with Golden Boy Promotions and is now looking forward to more action in the ring. “The Ghost” has only seen action once this past year when he dispatched Edel Ruiz in 43 seconds in January with a liverpunch. Now with his promotional situation taken care of, he hopes to see more action in the coming year.

?There?s a lot of big fights out there, hopefully we can get a big fight out here. We?re the young up and coming fighters, its time to take over, it?s a new era coming.?

Guerrero says he has even picked up a few pointers from his Golden Boy sable-mate Shane Mosley, ?The guys always in great shape?.sparring with him I?ve never been in with someone that fast before. He even showed me a little trick on how to tie up and turn a guy and I actually used it on him.?

A bout with Pacquiao? When asked about a future dream fight, Guerrero mentions he would like a piece of Manny Pacquiao in the Bay Area, ?a title fight with Manny Pacquiao?that?s my ideal fight, having that fight here in San Jose knowing that Pacquiao has a large following in San Francisco and the whole bay area.?

Victor Ortiz, boxing hottest prospect will also be featured on the card. He?s looking forward to showcasing his skills to the bay area fans on HBO and is happy to have the experience sparring with the Golden Boy himself. When asked what did he learn from sparring with Oscar de la Hoya, he responded, ?I used one of his quotes I learned from him at the gym??I hate it, but I love it,? I was so tired (while at the gym) but I kept going,? Ortiz said.

As being one of boxing?s hottest prospects there is a lot on his shoulders but Ortiz told us at Liverpuncher.com he?s not phased by it all. ?Its not a thing that you take and you blow it up in your head?you still have to put in that extra work, put in that extra mile, that extra round and you can?t just take it for granted.?
