Floyd Mayweather Jr. needs to call on no one. If Mayweather Jr. decides to return to boxing, then he will need to do nothing more then show up. Mayweather Jr. will not have to call out fighters such as Manny Pacquiao or Ricky Hatton. The fact is that both Hatton and Pacquiao should call out Mayweather Jr., and not the other way around.
When Mayweather Jr. retired, he did so at the top of the heap. He was the Pound for Pound King by a long shot and the man to beat to take the top spot. So if and when he returns… no one should kid themselves. Mayweather Jr. with a return to the sport will automatically be propelled to the top spot.
I’ve read tons of “Bloggers” or what some of us call “Writers” expressing that Mayweather Jr. needs to call out Pacquiao or even Hatton to protect his legacy.
WTF man! Who are they kidding?! Obviously themselves. Mayweather Jr’s legacy doesn’t sit on the shoulders of a fight with Pacquiao, or Hatton (a fighter he has already defeated.)
If Mayweather Jr. never returns to boxing… you know he’ll get a first class ticket to the Hall of Fame anyway.
Bottom line, what I am telling you is that if Mayweather Jr. returns, he needs to call out no one. They need to call out him.
In Hatton’s case, he needs to beg Mayweather Jr. for a rematch. In Pacquiao’s case, you know he is going to go for the biggest names he can get. All considering that Pacquiao has already called out Mayweather Jr… you know he won’t quit calling out Mayweather Jr. if he does indeed return.
