ALA boys AJ ?Bazooka? Banal and Czar Amonsot are eager to redeem themselves as they both will be having their comeback matches on Jan. 31 at the ICM Carpark in Tagbilaran City.
After suffering his first loss five months ago in his own backyard against Panamanian Rafael Concepcion, Banal (17-1-1, 14 KOs) is gearing himself to win back the hearts of the boxing fans by winning his return bout against Indonesian warrior Nouldy Manakane (17-7-1, 8 KOs).
?I will try my best to give the people a good fight in my comeback fight so that I can win back the trust of the people,? said Banal.
The 20-year-old Banal said he has learned a lot from his first career loss, via a 10th round knockout, where he couldn?t continue after running out of gas due to the constant manhandling by Concepcion.
Banal believes he was knocked out because he failed to conserve his energy in the early rounds.
?I will not wear myself out next time. Because my energy will run out if I give it all in one go,? said Banal.
Banal said he is also willing to wait two to three more years before getting another world title fight.
Like Banal, Amonsot also admitted a flaw?his temper. However, now, after getting a renewed boxing life, he is willing to change.
?I will now control my temper and not be carried away by my hot head,? said Amonsot, who was given a second chance after suffering a potentially career-ending head injury.
Persistent
Amonsot (18-3-1, 10 KOs), who will be facing top Indonesian fighter Zoel Fidal (16-6-2, 7 KOs), was persistent to return to the ring after a year?s layoff and kept himself fit.
?I showed them (ALA) that I was very interested to fight back. I trained hard and jogged everyday,? said Amonsot. ?I wasn?t ever thinking of retiring because I didn?t feel anything wrong with my body,? he added.
The main goal of Amonsot right now is to have a crack back at the boxer who nearly ended his young boxing career, Michael ?The Great? Katsidis.
