Manila policemen on Tuesday raided DVD shops in Divisoria and along Claro M. Recto where illegal copies of the Pacquiao-de la Hoya Dream Match were being sold.
Vendors scampered at the sight of policemen as they secured their DVDs from possible confiscation.
They, however, calmed down a while later after policemen informed them that the Pacquiao DVDs will not be seized.
?Nagbigay lang sila ng warning, hindi na kami uulit,? said one vendor.
Policemen said they will inform the Optical Media Board about the sale of pirated Dream Match copies in these popular shopping areas.
?The public is being warned na huwag bumili ng ganitong tape, kasi nakakasira din siya ng [DVD] player,? said one Manila policeman.
Vendors sell Dream Match DVDs for P35 each.
The Dream Match shows People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao annihilate the 10-time world champion Oscar de la Hoya in eight rounds.
The fight is seen as the biggest boxing match in 2008.
