LAS VEGAS — It was a little more than 10 years ago that Oscar De La Hoya defeated Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez for the second time.
After his victory in which Chavez retired in his corner after the eighth round De La Hoya performed a victory dance that many Chavez loyalists took as disrespectful.
Over the years, De La Hoya has more or less been resented by Mexican fans because of his wins over Chavez. And many couldn’t wait for payback.
They got it Saturday at the MGM Grand.
