Filipino hero Manny Pacquiao hates the label, ?Mexican killer,? a moniker earned from his fans for a recent string of victories over fighters from that country.
Still, he would love nothing better than to add Oscar De La Hoya, who he fights Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, to the list of victims that already includes Marco Antonio Barerra, Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez.
With his unorthodox southpaw style and a game plan devised by his trainer, Freddie Roach, Pacquiao is looking to utilize his experience, faster hand speed and the added 12 pounds to reach the 147-pound weight limit De La Hoya demanded in order for the fight to take place to great advantage Saturday.
Though not in his prime, De La Hoya, 35, remains a slight favorite due to the height and reach advantage he enjoys.
