MEPRANUM ARRIVES IN VEGAS

LAS VEGAS--Filipino fighter Richie Mepranum, who will see action on this Saturday's "Dream Match" card at the MGM Grand, arrived last night from the Philippines after a 13-hour trip from Manila.

Mepranum and his trainer were met at the McCarran International Airport by Manny Pacquiao's lawyer Jeng Gacal, and were immediately brought to their hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Gacal and a friend then brought the duo to a restaurant inside Mandalay Bay for a late-night dinner following the long trip.

There was no word whether Mepranum's manager, Mayor Jojo Lopez of Maasim, Saranggani, would also be arriving to watcht the fight.

Mepranum, 18 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw with 7 KO's, holds the WBO Oriental flyweight title, and will be seeing action for the first time in the United States against US-based Mexican Cesar "El Gallito" Lopez.
