RICKY HATTON wants to become the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world ? by beating Manny Pacquiao. Hatton, 30, is expected to meet the winner of the Oscar De La Hoya-Pacquiao clash next year.
And the Hitman is banking on the Filipino star beating the Golden Boy when the pair meet on December 6.
He said: “I would like it to be Pacquiao, he’s the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
“If Pacquiao beats Oscar, I will get my dream of becoming the best.”
Hatton failed in his first attempt to become the pound-for-pound king when he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jnr.
But with Mayweather in temporary retirement, Pacquiao is now regarded as the greatest boxer on the planet.
And Hatton would love to face Pac Man in a light-welterweight showdown at one of the biggest sporting venues in Britain.
He added: “I failed against Floyd but a fight against Pacquiao would be at my preferred weight.”
